can you help me understand metabolism, diet, exercise, losing and putting on weight?

i read that you shouldn’t eat less than you burn…? so if that is so, how can i lose weight? i crash dieted 2 years ago which worked a treat, but I am fatter now , and don’t want to make the same mistake again. i think my metabolism is shot to pieces.
i have joined the gym (again) and do weights, and have started at 20 – 40 mins rowing, or cross trianer, swimming and cycling. i am fairly active, as i have 2 kids and cycle around 5 kilometers a day just getting around.

but my BMI is 31 and i must admit i comfort eat in an evening. i used to drink, but but have stopped in hope that i would lose weight. but it hasn’t made any difference.

please help me get control.

is weight watchers plus exercise a good way to go?

if losing weight has worked for you before, it means you have the ability and potential to do it again. you dont need to sign up with silly programs that offer you temporary solutions. of course, its hard to eat less than you burn. in fact, it takes 1-2 hours of cardio to burn off a banana. so its impossible. But its all about portioning your meals and excerising regularly. i lost 10kilos a year ago and its climbed back again, only because i have lost control of my eating habits. trying to get backon track though. I think you and i know how to lose weight, as its been done beofre. Its a matter of pushing yourself to believe in yourself and do it. goodluck
